Thinking about letting go.
Their was a song in the 70's called "It's So Hard to say Goodbye to Yesterday". The song writer was saying he didn't want to let go of the good times he had in the past. Sometimes your life changes and God opens new doors for you. It's hard to let go of things, places and most of all good people. We get accustomed and comfortable with going to the same place and being with the same people. Especially when things are going good. We don't want to leave what we have we want to hold on. But the truth is if we don't say goodbye to yesterday we will not be able to fully walk in and experience all the wonderful things God has for us in our tomorrow. If we don't let go we will not grow and we will miss out on God's purpose for our lives including the new people and places. No matter how good yesterday may have been for us. Tomorrow has so much more for us to do and receive in God's kingdom. Isaiah 43:19 says Behold I am doing a new thing. Do not consider the things of old. Yesterday was good but tomorrow I am looking forward to God doing something greater in me and through me. What about you?
Today I am being encouraged by this post I wrote years ago. Thank you self and thank you God for leading me to it.
